Whether you’re interested in starting your journey as an instructor, expanding your current teaching style or simply a student wanting to deepen your knowledge of pole dance, this training is for you. Our approach to pole dancing is fun, sprinkled with sexy and complemented by traditional fitness elements. You’ll learn how to create and instruct effective pole dance classes for women of varying body types with no previous dance experience.

Meet Your Trainer
Danielle Green is the owner of Vixen Fitness, a boutique pole dance fitness studio located in Ann Arbor, MI. With more than 11 years of pole dance experience, she has taught thousands of women through classes, private parties and instructor trainings. Her passion for pole dance was sparked by a private lesson with friends in 2005. Hooked at first spin, she purchased a pole, began self teaching and later set out on a mission to share the benefits of pole dancing with women through home parties. After a year of overwhelming requests from party-goers, the first Vixen Fitness studio opened in 2007. Since then, Danielle has continued to teach weekly classes and is the driving force behind one of Michigan’s first and longest running pole dance studios.
Questions + Answers
What are the minimum requirements to register for this training?
Must have (3) consistent months of previous pole dance experience and currently dancing at an intermediate level prior to participating in training. Should be able to stand, walk and dance in 6-inch (or higher) exotic dance heels for extended periods of time.
What’s the refund policy if I️ can’t attend?
Please only register for training if you are confident you can attend. There are absolutely No Refunds. If you are unable to attend training, with 14-days notice prior to training you can apply your payment to a future training or classes at the Vixen Fitness studio. If training is cancelled or rescheduled due to low enrollment, you will be provided a full refund or option to apply the payment to a future training date.
Can I teach what I learn in training anywhere?
Yes, this training is created for those interested in working at Vixen and any pole dancer that currently teaches or desires to at another studio anywhere. However, this training is not a licensing program and participants will not be automatically affiliated with the Vixen Fitness brand.
Can I work for Vixen Fitness after completion of this training?
We hire instructors strictly from this program but successful completion does not guarantee employment with Vixen Fitness. All training participants interested in consideration for employment as a Vixen Fitness instructor must apply for, be selected and successfully complete our Vixen Traineeship Program which provides additional training (at no additional cost) and dives deeper into our methodology.
What score is required to pass the written exam? What if I️ don’t pass?
If you pay attention during training, trust us...you’ll pass! However, a minimum score of 80% is required to pass the exam. If you don’t pass the exam, your training is incomplete and you can attend a future training date at a discounted rate if desired.
What if I️ can’t attend the entire training?
If you can not attend the full training, please do not register as full participation is required.
Will there be any breaks?
Yes, there will be a few 15 minute breaks and a 1-hour lunch each day. We recommend bringing a lunch or grabbing something from a restaurant nearby or visiting our neighbors at Zingermans Bakehouse.
When is the next training?
If no additional dates are listed, please check back for additional dates in the future as we typically host trainings 1-2 times per calendar year.
How late can I register or when does registration close?
Registration closes 2 weeks prior to training or sooner if all spots are taken. Enrollment is limited to 12 participants per training session.
Will I be ready to teach pole dancing after attending the training?
Unless you’re already an instructor, no. Becoming a great pole dance instructor is a journey that involves lots of practice, preparation, learning from mistakes, continued education, personal development and guidance from experienced peers. Any training participant that is interested in being employed at Vixen as an instructor is required to complete our traineeship program, as we firmly believe no one is ready to instruct after just one weekend. However, this training should set a solid foundation on your journey to becoming a great instructor.
What should I wear or bring?
Tank top or sports bra, fitted booty shorts, 6 to 7-inch exotic dance heels with an ankle strap, knee pads or leg warmers, pole grip product, healthy snacks and lunch money.
After this training will I be considered “certified” to teach pole dance?
No, our training is solely based on our “tried and true” method of teaching pole dance to women for more than 11 years. The Vixen Fitness Pole Dance Instructor Training is not recognized by or affiliated with any particular fitness or pole dance association. All studios have their own standards for considering instructors. We do not guarantee that participation in our training will have any bearing on your opportunities for employment or consideration elsewhere. If you are interested in learning more about anatomy, physiology and exercise methodologies, obtaining a Group Fitness or Personal Training Certification to complement this training is recommended.
Will I learn intermediate or advanced pole tricks and how to teach them during the training?
No, you will not learn intermediate to advanced level pole tricks in this training. However, what you will learn throughout the training can be applied to teaching any level of pole dance. We will focus on beginner to advanced beginner level moves.
